Googles Risikokapitalfonds GoogleVentures will sich ab sofort auch in Europa an IT-Start-ups beteiligen. Das kündigte Google-Venture-Manager Bill Maris im hauseigenen Blog an.

Demnach will Google in den kommenden Jahren 100 Millionen Dollar in der europäischen Szene investieren. „Wir glauben, dass die europäische Start-up-Szene ein enormes Potenzial hat. Wir haben in London, Paris, Berlin, Skandinavien und anderswo verlockende neue Unternehmen entdeckt“, kommentiert Maris die Pläne, und nennt unter anderem das Berliner Start-up Soundcloud als Beispiel für die innovative Szene der deutschen Hauptstadt.
